Governor DeSantis’ $117.4 billion FY 2026–27 budget is $2.2 billion higher than the current year.
Education: $30.6 billion for K–12, including $1.56 billion for teacher/staff pay, raising per-student funding by $279 to $9,406.
Public Safety & Workforce:Â 5% raises for state law enforcement, expanded prison staffing, and a 2% raise for other state employees.
Environment, Infrastructure & Health: Over $800 million for Everglades restoration, billions for transportation/water quality, and $4+ billion for health (cancer research, behavioral health, seniors, child welfare).
Key Gaps:Â No direct statewide property tax relief, limited new affordable housing, teacher pay concerns (high cost of living), and no new funding for civic engagement/voter access.
