Florida Gubernatorial Candidates Weigh-In on Florida Voting Rights Act

At Equal Ground, we believe Floridians deserve to know where every candidate for Governor stands on protecting their fundamental freedom to vote.

That's why we asked every candidate seeking Florida's highest office to sign a simple pledge committing to support and work to pass the Florida Voting Rights Act if elected.

Our pledge tracker is designed to provide voters with a transparent, nonpartisan record of each candidate's response. Candidates had three opportunities to respond:

  • Yes – They signed the pledge and committed to supporting the Florida Voting Rights Act.

  • No – They declined to make that commitment.

  • Didn't Respond – They did not respond to repeated requests to state their position.

The purpose of this effort is not to endorse or oppose any candidate. Rather, it is to ensure that voters have access to clear information about where candidates stand on one of the most fundamental issues in our democracy: protecting the right to vote.

Following Florida's primary election, we will continue reaching out to the nominees and update this tracker if a candidate changes their position, signs the pledge, or provides a response they had not previously submitted. We believe voters deserve the most current and accurate information possible before casting their ballots in the general election.

Transparency strengthens democracy. Informed voters strengthen democracy even more.

We encourage every Floridian to review the candidates' responses, learn more about the Florida Voting Rights Act, and make their voice heard at the ballot box.
