Due to changes in Florida law, vote-by-mail (VBM) requests must now be submitted for each general election cycle. If you have not requested a vote-by-mail ballot since the 2024 election, you must submit a new request in order to receive a ballot for the 2026 elections.

Key Rules you need to Know:

New vote-by-mail request required each election cycle
When submitting your vote-by-mail request, you must include either:
- Your Florida driver’s license or state ID number, or
- The last four digits of your Social Security number
Vote-by-mail ballot requests must now be made no later than 12 days before an election.
You cannot return multiple ballots in the same envelope. If two ballots are mailed together in one envelope, neither will be counted.
Voters with disabilities have the right to request an accessible vote-by-mail ballot.

Important Clarification for 2026 Elections:

No additional Proof of Citizenship Required This Year
- Despite the passage of House Bill 991 by the Florida Legislature in 2026, you are not required to provide documented proof of citizenship (i.e. passport or birth certificate) to vote in this year’s elections.
