Kiaira Nixon is a seasoned political communications and government affairs strategist with over a decade of experience in legislative advocacy, campaign leadership, and voting rights. She has spent much of her career navigating the Florida Legislature, advancing policy priorities, and building durable relationships with lawmakers, advocates, and community stakeholders.
She most recently served as Regional Operations Director for the Harris–Walz presidential campaign in Florida and previously led voting rights media strategy across the Southern United States for the Southern Poverty Law Center, where she amplified the voices and policy priorities of historically marginalized communities. Earlier in her career, Kiaira worked in the State Attorney’s Office, where she managed community crime strategies focused on public safety, restorative justice, prevention, and community engagement.
An alumna of Florida A&M University, Kiaira holds a Bachelor of Science in Journalism and a Master of Public Policy from Jacksonville University. She is also a distinguished graduate of The Campaign School at Yale University.
Kiaira’s leadership and dedication to community impact have earned her recognition across Northeast Florida. She was named to the Jacksonville Business Journal 40 Under 40 and honored as a Florida Black Expo 20 Under 40 recipient. An alumna of Leadership Jacksonville, Kiaira was also appointed as an inaugural member of the City of Jacksonville’s African American Advisory Board. She made history as a top finalist in the national Miss Black U.S. Ambassador Pageant, representing the state of Florida. She is a proud member of the Gamma Rho Omega chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated.
