Jacquelyn C. Steele joins Equal Ground as the North Florida Field Manager, bringing
more than two decades of experience in grassroots organizing, public policy, and
strategic leadership. Based in Tallahassee, she has built a career grounded in
advocacy, equity, and people-centered engagement throughout the state of Florida.
She most recently served as a Field Organizer on the Harris-Walz campaign, where she
mobilized communities across North Florida, trained volunteers, and helped lead high-
impact civic outreach efforts. Her background also includes extensive leadership in
human resources. She has served as an HR Manager for a food manufacturing
company and a post-acute care hospital, as well as Director of Human Resources for
the Florida Commission on Human Relations—the state agency charged with enforcing
civil rights laws. In each of these roles, Jacquelyn centered fairness, compliance, and
inclusive practices, which continue to inform her organizing approach today.
Jacquelyn holds a master’s in human resource development from Villanova University
and a B.S. in Political Science from Florida State University. She was recently named
one of Tallahassee’s “25 Women to Know” and is deeply committed to empowering
communities from Pensacola to Jacksonville and beyond. Her leadership style blends
strategic focus with contagious energy, and she is excited to partner with the Equal
Ground team to expand civic participation across North Florida.
Meet the team.
